Remember Why You Invest
Today was a brutal day for the markets. But it doesn’t change anything. I’m not rushing into or out of the market based on a 5% or 10% move. That’s not how long-term investing works.
My entire goal is to have a system that allows me to invest more money over time and stay invested longer than anyone else. That’s how I’ll get rich overnight.
Some of you probably know I live in Florida. Fortunately, my house was not impacted by Hurricane Ian. However, my brother’s house was completely devastated from flooding. He’s covered by insurance, and he has our family to help him get through this, but so many others have it so much worse.
I’m sharing all of this because the last couple of weeks has been such an important reminder as to why long-term investing is so important to me.
I don’t want to have to worry about the markets minute by minute…or even day by day. I want to enjoy my life, spend time with those I love, and yes grow generational wealth in the stock market.
We can achieve this by investing in ourselves and earning more income throughout our careers, living below our means, investing, and taking care of ourselves mentally, emotionally, and physically. Long-term wealth building is about so much more than money.
That’s the type of content you should expect from this newsletter.
Anyways…
Here are a couple of pictures I took at his house. I had to park about a mile away and walk through stomach-high water to get to him… but we got him out safely!
1️⃣ Portfolio Update
We ended the week with a $562 market gain. Which is a lot better than I’d expect after how bad today was.

I made no changes to the portfolio this week
3️⃣ The Simple Fact About Warren Buffett that Everyone Overlooks
In Morgan Housel’s book The Psychology of Money he points out that $84.2 billion of Buffett’s $84.5 billion in wealth was earned after his 50th birthday.
Earning 22% annually is really rare, but what’s more rare is staying in the game for almost 75 years. That’s why he’s the GOAT.
4️⃣ Rocket Lab Completed it’s 31st Launch This Year
is actually the stock in my portfolio that I believe has the most upside potential. They held their investor day in September and I'll be sharing all my notes in Tuesday's newsletter.
They are executing incredibly well, and I’m excited for the next decade.
